What a short, strange trip it's been..............
And for those of you who don't live in California
WOW, can it be five years already? Five years ago on Cinco de Mayo we got married. I actually can't believe it's already been 5 years...where did it all go? We've seen two different states(actually 5, but most were pre-marriage), three different houses and an array of different jobs including trying to get into Med. school and don't forget two kids! When trying to think of when we should have gotten married, while eating a burrito it came to me. "Quick Phil, when is Cinco de Mayo? Please say it falls on a Saturday!!" Sure enough it did and that was it.....we were to get married on Cinco de Mayo in San Diego. Could you think of a better way to "show off" Southern California to Phil's family from South Carolina??
So tonight, we celebrate. We have actually hired a babysitter and are going out. I have no idea where as it is a surprise.
Now for the pictures posted from yesterday.
The first one....girls on their way to my bachelorette party.
The second one...the night before we got married. Note the guy on the left hand side holding up the bottle of Jim Beam. This would be the guy (friend of a friend, sorta) who crashed our wedding. He "ended up" in San Diego to "attend" our wedding as he heard it was going to be a "good time". Honestly I have never seen a better dressed wedding crasher...he was in a 3 piece suit!
The third one.....this is "Uncle Chuck" and my cousin Jessica. Chuck has known my parents for over 35 years and has helped my friend Piete coin the phrase "getting Chucked up"
The forth one.......this would be about 3am after the wedding. The beauty is that the spa was to have closed at 11pm....wrong. About every hour a "security guard" would come over to tell us it was time to leave. Each time he would come over my girlfriends would take turn getting out of the spa, lay their arm over the "security guard" and tell him we would be staying for another hour. I know that this tactic worked till at least 4am, that's when Phil and I felt it was time to exit the floating beer cans as we had to get on a plane headed toward Mexico in less than 5 hours.
The final picture....we laugh everytime we see this one! The guy in the picture is a friend who flew all the way form the Virgin Islands across the country to San Diego to attend our wedding. The guys all took a trip to Tijuana to "have fun" and came back with wierd wrestling masks. I commend whoever was able to coerce my mother into putting on the mask and possing for this picture.
Happy Anniversary Big Smooch...........here's to 5 more

Happy #5!! It'll be 8 for us this year, and yeah- I can't believe how fast it's gone!!
Love the pictures! At least when people ask you "Cinco de Mayo? Did you have mariatchis? Margaritas? Did you wear sombreros?" you can respond with a resounding "SI"! Unlike Jeff and I who were married on October 31, and routinely get asked "Oh my God! Are you Satanists? Did you wear black?? Were you in costumes???" to which we have to say..."um...no."
Have a great anniversary- hope to be celebrating with you at #55!!
