Introducing................ Hula

Here she is...Hula. Or Hula Bear, Hula Girl sometimes Hula Dog. She's as sweat as can be and perfect for our family. We wanted a dog but couldn't manage a puppy right now. We contacted the Greater Los Angeles Golden Retriever rescue and they found us a perfect match. Hula's previous owners (who had named her Emma) didn't want her anymore, as they didn't feel like she turned out to "look perfect". Golden retrievers usually have blocky heads and thicker, fuller fur and well, Hula doesn't really have those characteristics. Not like we give a rats ass....she's perfect for us. It's amazing how shallow people can be. The picture above is "the girls" settling in to watch The Little Mermaid.

Emma needed about two days to warm up to Hula. The problem is that Hula is the same heigth as Emma and all the "dog kisses" go directly on Emma's face....she's not real happy about that. After awhile Emma warmed up to her new best friend.

A stare down between the mutt and the ball.

A new "favorite picture" I took today at the park.

Whoever gave sweet Hula Girl up are the ones with the 'block head'. She's beautiful.

The pic of the girls together? Love it!

OOOHHHH I Love Hula!!! Our Golden isn't the "typical" Golden either but he is my best friend and just the best dog ever. Screw people that give away dogs for crap like that. But...their loss...your gain! Love the pictures.

Hula is PERFECT! What a beautiful little girl! Our Golden (with a block head) could look like a monster for all I care...just as long as he's the sweet dog that he is, I couldn't possibly care less what he looks like!

She's lucky to have found your family!

The girls look so cute together. I am glad Emma warmed up to her new 'sister'. Shayna and Nelly are just to the point where they play with each other and it is so cute. Have fun with the new addition!

Yay!! Kudos to you for going the rescue group route....you saved a life. Isn't it amazing the stories you hear about why they give up their animals? I agree with Connie, they are the "block heads". :)
